The national standard for IBAN numbers in Kuwait conform to international standards. IBAN numbers consist of 24 alphanumeric characters made up as follows

  • Why is IBAN required?
    IBAN will make your account internationally recognisable and will facilitate the communication and processing of cross-border
    transactions. It will make your local and international transfers easier, faster and safer.
  • How do I obtain my IBAN?
    If you are a Al Rajhi Bank customer all you need to do is access our website www.alrajhibank.com.kw and log on to your Mubasher Online
    Account or call our customer service on 24954333 (then press 2).

    You are also welcome to visit our branch and we will be delighted to assist you in obtaining your IBAN information.
  • Will IBAN be required in all my local and international transfers?
    IBAN will be requested on all transfers between banks operating in the State of Kuwait. It will also be required on all transfers received
    from banks outside the State of Kuwait to all banks operating in the State of Kuwait.

    International transfers from the banks in the State of Kuwait to banks outside the State of Kuwait will only be required if those countries
    are applying the IBAN system. Currently, it will only be applied to payments made to Lebanon, KSA and Europe.
  • Where do I input the IBAN information of the beneficiary I am making a payment to?
    The IBAN details of the beneficiary must be quoted on your transfer request either through Mubasher Online Banking or the branch i.e. it
    should be entered in the beneficiary account number or IBAN field when entering beneficiary details.
  • What will happen if I do not insert the IBAN information of the beneficiary I am making a payment to?
    The payment made may be rejected, delayed or incur extra charges if the IBAN information is not provided. You should be aware that the
    beneficiary's bank can reject your payment if you don’t use an IBAN.
